I joined the blog challenge running through April so that i could learn as much as possible about blogging successfully and grow my mailing list.
So I have been listening to podcasts and visiting blogs to spy on the best blogging craftsmen (oh and of course women).
What are the best practices? What can I learn?
Let me share with you my fellow bloggers – news about a great podcast.
As I have been walking every morning I have got to know a lot about a guy called Brandon Gaille who is a blogging millionaire.
HIs STORY ( and I will write more about that another day ) is incredible and illustrates how we can overcome obstacles with the right attitude.
Two Blogs On Offer Today:
Here I am going to be offering you two blogs – and I am doing this for a reason that I will explain at the end of this posting.
I am going to take you through the headings of a blog by Brandon Gaille. I will leave just a short point from Brandon about the heading and will insert my thoughts.
[my comments will be under KW: and be BLUE and those that I have left from Brandon will be BG and BLACK]
Let’s go ahead and get right into the first habit.
#1 Pro Bloggers Exercise Self-Control Throughout the Day
BG: Three tips
Check email once every three hours
Keep all social media windows closed
Program your phone to only allow calls from spouse and kids
KW: Great tips.
I am taking action right now TODAY. I have had my quick check this morning and answered a couple of urgent e-mails. Most of the e-mails I do not need – I am going further and will be unsubscribing from a few lists. Task written down for later today.
I will leave social media totally alone until all other tasks are completed for today. I will allocate a couple of hours a day to marketing through social media – but that will be planned.
The biggest irritation for me working from home is answering cold calls. Tried several things to get rid of that unsuccessfully. I know when the call is domestic and will put the rest on answer call.
#2 Pro Bloggers Have an Optimistic and Positive Attitude
BG: In order to make it through your first year of blogging, you need to have a firm belief that you are going to be successful.
KW: I can tick a box on this one. Positive attitude when all around are not quite with me. Things do take time but must not get demotivated.
If you can believe, you can achieve.
#3 Pro Bloggers Are Open-Minded
BG: Steven Covey referred to this as sharpening the saw. As a blogger, you need to always be open to learning new techniques and processes that may be better than what you are currently doing now.
Here are a few ways I sharpen my saw…
I Listen to Podcasts
I Sign Up to Online Courses
I Read Blogs
These three practices have guided me down the path of constant and never ending improvement.
KW: Podcasts: Listening to podcasts is my sure fire way of keeping up to date and changing tactics when warranted. I have been putting some of my clients up with podcasts – but never done it myself – something to ponder.
Online Courses: I have joined a membership website NAMS with a treasure trove of help with list building etc. On the side of this post you will see some reports which you can download. Go ahead.
Blogs: What I have enjoyed on the April challenge is to meet my peers who have the same intention. To write a blog is giving away so much information about yourself.
#4 Pro Bloggers Have a Long-Term Plan
BG: As I mentioned earlier… In regards to Google results, the work you do today will reward you six months down the road. Pro bloggers think long term.
They set quarterly, yearly, and five year goals. Here are a couple of questions to help plan for the future.
Where do you want your blog to be a year from now?
What actions do you need to take to achieve each of these goals?
If you do not think you have time for coming up with detailed goals, then take a moment to listen to the results of this study. Harvard surveyed their MBA program graduates as they were graduating. They found that…
84% had no specific goals.
13% had goals but they were not written down.
3% had clear written goals.
The 13% of the class that had goals were making twice as much as the 84% without any goals. The 3% of the class that had taken the time to write down goals were earning ten times as much as all of the other 97% of MBA graduates.
KW: *** This is a lesson for me – the statistics speak – how about you! *** I have left this section in there as written by Brandon. BIG TICK for something I have to do. The MBA story makes that so clear. What are your goals
#5 Pro Bloggers Take Calculated Risks
KW: Wow – I have been so ready to take risks and have done that so often.
I have so many stories to tell about this one.
Not always brilliant results but oh how my life changed every time.
Some risky moves turned out to be unexpected and led to terrific changes in domestic life. For example we went full time sailing, had an accident and sank the boat – then spent several years working out in the Middle East helping commission a new hospital in Muscat, Oman. The stories of the expat life and the people we now know around the world are the legacy of that accident.
You know now I hope that visiting my blog will give you a heap of stories.
“If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.”
This is a constant reminder to me that I need to continue trying new things in business and in life.
#6 Pro Bloggers Simplify Their Processes
BG: Bruce Lee once said…
“It is not the daily increase, but a daily decrease. Hack away at the inessentials.”
KW: This joins my BIG TICK Box and will become one of my first goals.
I am far too complicated when I think ahead.
I see the overall strategy and work too fast in trying to get to the end point – instead of breaking it down and making the simple building blocks which are well crafted and work well.
#7 Pro Bloggers Embrace and Learn from Discomfort
BG: We are all going to face obstacles in business and life. Embrace them, learn from them, and keep moving forward.
KW: I mentioned above what a hard time Brandon worked through.
I had to learn just how to deal with a major sickness obstacle.
Through all of my nursing career I didn’t have a singe day of sick.
So you can imagine what a surprise it was when I went through a sickness spell.
About five years ago at home emptying the dish washer I began to feel unwell. It was a heart attack and I had a stent put in.
A year later – blood in my urine which was cancer of kidney – so I had a kidney removed.
A year after that on Boxing day with a house full of family I had a stroke – total loss of function one side and loss of speech – the works. My wife is a nurse and got me to hospital quick. Great fast treatment and I was talking and walking again next day.
The most important thing I noticed during my nursing days was that patients with a positive attitude recovered and got over the illness quickly. That is totally my approach.
#8 Pro Bloggers Never Give Up in the Face of Struggle
KW: You can see what Brandon has to say in his blog post.
In my case I just wanted to get back to normal life as soon as able. I had computer on my bed – some of my e-mails were sent out with some grammatical errors – I know because i was told so.
The sickness did give me problems running a business – but my business partner was terrific with a very positive and helpful support. In fact that business partner is Adam Eason who is the hypnotherapist that you will hear me talking about regularly. Also my family were the best including my son Tom ( he learned how to set up WordPress websites etc to help me out with some of my client work )
What ever I want to do – I will never let anything get in my way.
#9 Pro Bloggers Spend Time with the Right People
BG: Reach out to other bloggers and share ideas. This can be through a Facebook group, a MeetUp, or a conference.
KW: Oh how important is this advice.
In my eyes this blog post is aimed at the group of people who are doing the April Challenge which is on Paul Taubman’s facebook page. What a great group of people to get feedback from. I have already got some great feedback from members of this challenge group.
The place I came across Paul where he was being interviewed by David Perdew in NAMS. I am an insider there and what a great place to get the support and meet with the RIGHT PEOPLE.
It means you are never working in isolation.
Do click on any of the products on the right hand side and in any of those you will find a link to NAMS.
#10 Pro Bloggers Show Appreciation and Gratitude for What they Have
BG: Here’s another great quote from Zig Ziglar that really sums up the importance of gratitude…
“Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.”
Whether you are religious or just spiritual, it is important to show gratitude for everything that you have at the beginning and end of each day.
KW: I have my faith which is the most wonderful thing that I have and I am probably not good enough at it BUT I know where my thanks are due.
You will not hear me talk about this at all – simply because I am not the one who knows the answers. There are other people much better informed than me.
#11 Pro Bloggers Accept and Embrace Change
KW: I heard this somewhere on a podcast. (can’t remember which one) “The only thing that is consistent is change” – Quote Heraclitus
I have been trying to keep up with the changes on the Internet since I put up my first website in 1994.
#12 Pro Bloggers Have a Great Work Life Balance
BG: I make a point to spend every evening and weekend having fun with my wife and two boys. Without them, it would all be for nothing.
KW: For the last seven years I have had a motorhome and whenever my wife Babs was on leave we were able to go away. I had the motorhome fitted out with everything so that I could do some work, some play in totally different locations. We were touring Spain and I was able to run my business a couple of hours max a day.
I have retired now but am really excited about starting a problogger business. In fact I am excited about that and will still have the travelling, social approach. Hopefully make an extra bob or two.
#13 Pro Bloggers Want Other Bloggers to Succeed
BG: I have been fortunate to be part of several great mastermind groups over the past two decades. In each of these mastermind groups, we all sincerely wanted eachother to reach greater levels of success. If I know a blogger that just tripled his revenue, then I am going to be able to learn from him and apply it to my blog. Success breeds success.
KW: This is a really important part for my new retirement business project.
I have not mentioned my products this week because we are not supposed to advertise within the challenge blogs.
So a subtle mention that I have an affiliate programme that I hope will be of interest to some of the bloggers that read this post.
Certainly get in touch with me if you are interested – so that we can get to know each other.
#14 Pro Bloggers Have a Definite Purpose Behind What They Do
BG: When I set out to start my blog, I asked myself…
Why do I want to have a successful blog?
At the time, I was having success with my boutique marketing services firm, but I wanted to be able to reach more people beyond just my clients. Over the past three years, my posts have been read by millions. My about page, which is 5000 word bio of my comeback story, has been read by over 100,000 people in last year. I get several emails each day from readers who are inspired by my journey to find success again.
KW: I have worked with health issues most of my adult life – both physical health where I was hospital nursing and mental health the last ten years with talk therapies.
What fascinates most is the link between the mind and physical problems.
I want to really promote the mind talk therapies and prevention techniques.
I want to kill all the false myths and misunderstandings about hypnosis and raise awareness of the power of the brain to influence change.
#15 Pro Bloggers Share Graciously With Others
BG: Every once in awhile I get asked…
Why do share your secrets with everyone?
I am big believer in the law of abundance. This is the simple fact that there is an unlimited source of everything that we need or could ever want. The more I share, the more I get back.
My podcast and blog posts allow me to form relationships with people that will eventually become customers of my course and clients for marketing services. If I was afraid to share my secrets, then I would have very little to share.
KW: I will leave you with Brandon’s words. My thoughts exactly.
#16 Pro Bloggers Accept Responsibility for Their Actions
BW: At some point, you are going to make a mistake on one of your blog posts. Every once in awhile, no matter how thorough I am, a blog post of mine will leave something important out. About twice a month, I get an email from a reader who lets me know I did not do a great job of representing a specific topic.
I could stand my ground and let them know why I am right, or I could ask them how I could make the post better. I choose the later. I even go as far as offering them the chance to write a few paragraphs for me, which many end up doing.
The end result is a better post and having a new raving fan for life.
KW: My wife is a Health Visitor and she goes to loads of training. She returned from one course with a No Blame poster that she put up on the wall in the kitchen. It was our no blame area.
I am pretty good on this one – I think!
I have found whenever I admit my mistakes it has worked out well. If I ever have an issue with product delivery online I will make a point of sending more than necessary to compensate. I have a grateful customer and usually a long relationship.
#17 Pro Bloggers Never Make Excuses
BG: When you run your own blog, the buck stops with you. Most pro bloggers start out blogging while they are working a full time job or raising a large handful of kids. With all of this going on, it is real easy to make the excuse of not having time to get around to posting on a consistent basis.
Always remember what Ben Franklin once said…
“He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.”
KW: No Excuses – I am where I am and the way I got here was down to me alone. i am with great people and again that is choice and decisions. You are probably a person I should know – who knows. Life is a wonderful journey but it is down to us what we make of it.
Finale by Brandon
The strategies and techniques may change from year to year, but these 17 success habits are timeless. Make them part of who you are and you will be destined to go further than you could possibly imagine.
Now here is the bit that I don’t understand yet. If you go and look at Brandon’s complete blog – it is really great – with images and so on.
However the whole blog post was based upon a slideshow. Brandon doesn’t hide that fact and you can see that in his finale.
So I am wondering whether what I have done is correct? I thought Brandon’s blog was so good that I would comment on it in my blog. No hiding the fact and here is the blog post – https://brandongaille.com/17-success-habits-of-pro-bloggers/
That is the address to go and see Brandon’s blog. There are so many things I need to put in place to have my blogs working for me and finding me new mail clients.
Well I have been for my half hour walk and thought through today’s blog listening to a podcast.
I finished my blog yesterday with brief comment about writing your blog to one person. Copy write training is also always talking about this talking to a specific person BUT…
I Find This Hard to do With Hypnosis Products.
Let me explain
If you look around this website you will see that I deal with self-hypnosis audios and videos. I have an online store called Hypnosis For Download. I also have a hypnosis for streaming membership full of all of the audios and videos.
My main interest is a new membership website which is my main focus. The membership site offers training, scientifically researched techniques and so on by Adam Eason author of a book ‘The Science Of Self-Hypnosis’
How DO we get to Promote Hypnosis Products
How to market and identify people when THEY are ready is the conundrum. I can’t make a landing page for every situation and write copy that will meet all of the needs of the shopper.
In fact my marketing approach is to leave the hypnosis for download website in place with well over 200 products.
So it is like having 200 landing pages.
The shop is a lead magnet.
This morning there was a person who had bought a product for Insomnia.
I will in fact offer her more than she thought.
I will give her access to a three day use of our Hypnosis For Streaming membership resource, so she can see the scientific research, education and demystifying resources audios and videos.
Into our funnel she goes to educate and help.
A VIP – as she has bought already.
I want to offer her valuable service which enhances her original purchase.
That is Fine BUT…
Most people would not start at the store though or even think of hypnosis necessarily as a solution.
Take This Example About Raynauds
This is really crying out for a blog post to be written about it – the important thing to offer at the bottom of the blog would be a free copy of melt stress and also three day access to our membership website…
Now I was listening to a radio programme this morning where a lady was talking about having Raynouds Disease.
In fact far from talking – she was describing the pain in a very emotional heartfelt way and was describing how hard it was to button up her coat or get her gloves on.
Now she is not alone, there are 10 million sufferers in the UK – I have just looked on the NHS (our health service in the UK)
Raynaud’s phenomenon is common and doesn’t usually cause any severe problems. … Raynaud’s affects your blood circulation. When you’re cold, anxious or stressed, your fingers and toes may change colour.
Now the lady on the radio was saying that her Raynauds flared up and was worse when she felt stressed or anxious.
What am I thinking when I hear stories like this? I just wanted to send her Melt Stress – one of our audios.
Now I could really tell that story in a lot of detail and hopefully include an audio recording from the programme where she is describing the pain
People Come To Hypnosis in a Variety of Ways.
Adam Eason – the Hypnotherapist I have been working with developing his College of Hypnosis business became a hypnotherapist because he found hypnosis to be a cure for his psoriasis.
All other medications and treatments had failed and he was desperate for a solution. Adam was shocked when he followed a recommendation to go to a hypnotherapist and that the hypnosis worked within a few days. On from there to where he is today a leading authority and author on the subject.
I Wish I Had Learned All About Hypnosis While I Was Nursing
Before I met Adam in 2005 – I had no idea about the hypnosis, cognitive behavioural therapy, NLP and other talk therapies.
As I worked alongside Adam filming his courses and producing his audios and videos I took it all on board.
Not in an academic way – NO – I USED the self-hypnosis audios and techniques.
For instance: I used to sweat profusely before speaking publicly and now that is a thing of the past. Now this was a real problem as I was often teaching in a Nursing School. In the Middle East I used to wear a jacket simply because i wanted to hide my perspiration. That looked weird in that climate. But there you go – what we will do to overcome something that was just a mental issue. Since hypnosis therapy – that has gone – a thing of the past.
I used “Think Yourself Thin” to get my fat belly in check. The stories I could tell you about my weight. Sounds like another blog to me leave it there today..
What Are Potential Customers Perceptions Of Hypnosis
The point I am struggling to make is that everybody is in a different place all of the time and with different perceptions about hypnosis.
In fact there is an education necessary in so many potential clients.
I know a lot of Hypnotherapists who have been well trained – But they have to win confidence to get going.
We will explore the perceptions and oh YES the misconceptions of mental therapies another day.
I am Going to Let You Into a Secret.
The best people to provide that education are other users.
But my main target are happy customers and hypnosis users who want to become affiliates. They can tell the true worth of these mind therapies.
Something Different Tomorrow
We will have a bit more fun tomorrow. With something off of the wall. Why not!
I don’t know what at the moment but I will decide in my 30 minute walk in the morning.
I realised that this blog challenge was going to take up some time this month and had decided that I would give myself two hours daily to do each blog.
Well that set the family off – bless them!
They already think I spend far too long at the computer and frequently tell me so.
My wife is a health visitor and claims she is always climbing stairs and walking;
My son is a surfer, climber type who is really fit and is running his first marathon in London later this month;
My daughter has videos on You Tube lifting weights, kick boxing, and goodness knows what else in the gym (did she mention kettles?).
So you probably get the picture – here is the old man who has had some heart issues spending another two hours online writing daily blogs.
Well I know they care and mean well AND I also know they are right.
The Secret to Keep Everyone Happy – Podcasts On The Go
So my daughter ( who has the ability always to do twenty five things at once ) has made me promise that I will go for a fast half hour walk WHILE listening to my podcasts for content and ideas etc.
That is what I will do.
Challenge after Challenge.
The next thing I need to sort out is how I take notes as I am listening to podcasts while walking. I need some voice recording software which can kick in and stop the podcast playing while I make a recorded voice note. It would be even better if the recorded voice message was automatically converted into text.
There you are software developers. Your comments please.
STILL – Two and Half Hours Per Blog is Not Long
Having said all of that – two and half hours is not long to efficiently do a blog.
It is alright for a personal narrative like this post.
But for news subjects: finding your facts research, picture locating, headline creation, structuring, SEO keywords – and of course writing all takes time.
So need to get nifty and efficient. I am on a learning curve and want to get really sharp with good processes in place.
So What Now?
It is day three and I am realising the importance of this challenge and just what I am learning already.
I have blogged for many years on and off but it was done with NO real urgency.
Sometimes a post would be in preparation for some time as if it was being marinated.
I know I get quite scared about putting things out –
Will there be grammatical errors? – YES – inevitable.
Will every sentence make sense? NO
Will I upset anyone? Inevitable.
Do I want comments? – YES – BUT
With this daily challenge assignment approach I have had to begin to act and think like a journalist, and quickly source the facts and story-line.
One of the things I am now doing is reading newspaper and magazine articles carefully. Reading less – but reading with more purpose
What a great thing to do.
It is enjoyable and you can see the writers craft and use of language.
Giving myself a limited time though means that I have to be very specific with the topic size.
However – By writing daily you give yourself the chance to pick up a subject again and develop a theme.
AND I Will Do That Today,
I have a BIG question that I will make the subject of tomorrow’s blog.
The issue is all about writing to a particular person in your writing.
For example: I am assuming for instance that the majority of the people reading this message will be other blog posters taking the challenge.
My question tomorrow will be about promoting something much more generic than any individual item.
Well it is Easter Day AND April fools day AND I have just been to a great church service with family AND had a beer at the pub AND it’s the day after I stayed up late to watch a boxing match.
Is that going to stop me sitting down and writing a blog.
There is a blog challenge and if the challenge is there it will happen. The great thing about a challenge is the power of make a commitment and keeping to it.
Keeping Blogging Going is Hard!
I wonder how many times I have written these or similar words. “Well as you can see i have not written a blog post for the last ??? however many months – but here is another go” – “from now on I will do better and so on.”
This time is different – I am telling you here and now – I will be writing a blog a day for the next 30/31 days. **(I will explain about the 30/31 issue in a moment)
Hopefully by then my hypnotherapist friend Adam Eason would be telling me that the habit will have set it. So you MAY get more.
The reason is that I am on a challenge – The Ultimate Blog Challenge – run by Paul Taubman. The challenge was pointed out to me by my marketing guy at NAMS.
Now I put myself in danger of being kicked off of the challenge on day one by accusing Paul of misleading us all. Where did Paul find thirty one days in April?
I thought I was going to write 30 posts but his e-mail to all challenge takers today clearly states 31 posts. (I wonder if it is an April Fools joke?)
Anyway back to the challenge. What a great way to kick me into real action.
NEW PERSONAL BRANDING
I need – yes NEED to do it regularly because a) I have to develop my own brand because I am working on my own now. I have lots of objectives – I was seventy on my last birthday – but that is kick off time for a new project.
Let me frame all of this:
For the last decade I have been the behind the scenes man and working with a guy who was developing his brand. His name: Adam Eason – Hypnotherapist, Author, Tutor and developing his college of hypnosis etc.
All of the work, the mailing list, blogs, newsletters and social media were developing a mailing list aimed at hypnotherapy.
I was involved with developing his audios and videos.
My background before meeting Adam was a 25 years nursing career.
All I can say briefly on Easter Sunday is that I have painted there a feeble quick background – don’t worry! There are at least 30/31 days to find out more.
MY NEW PROJECT
I have retired from that work with Adam Eason and really am setting about later day years with a set of clear objectives:
NOT retire completely – but do something I really love
Earn money – but in a more relaxed way – passive income ideal
I want to travel and work – motorhome enthusiast
Help and support my kids and their families
Keep total life balance
Help charities and church missions – there is so much poverty and need out there.
MY PERSONAL WATS-ON BRAND
Now I have started a retirement project where it is me who is the brand.
I have even set up this blogging website with a ME BRANDING name. Wats-On.net
The subtitle if “Wats-On my Mind”.
So there it is – I need to develop a new mailing list – so the marketers tell me – and GUESS WHAT! An active blog full of great content (hmm yuck will have to work on that one after today)
My blog will be about people – the more charismatic the better. Not surprisingly it will be health/mind/psychology related. Most of all I want to enjoy writing it and having fun and most of all getting feedback from you dear reader.
You can if you wish join me daily. There is an invitation you lucky person.
An E-Mail I Opened Was All About The Ultimate Blog Challenge.
I may not have read this message a couple of days ago when I was swamped to overflowing with e-mails. It was down to my new filtering that this was noticed. It was from one of my Favs!
What about you – how good is your filtering of e-mails.
How many e-mails do you get in your inbox in the morning?
How many are important and need your attention?
I have actually been trying to get some control over this by unsubscribing from regular messages from people who’s names are familiar. The reason that I know the names so well is because I see them daily.
BUT are they e-mails I actually read. NO! In fact I haven’t a clue in many cases what is the speciality and focus of this ‘NAME’.
I need to get a grip I thought and the pruning has begun – (well it is springtime).
Love them or Chuck them. So I have been opening to read and then to make a decision. IN or OUT!
The good guys and gals are getting promoted into their own file and the rest – well kicked out.
So a number of ‘NAMES’ are disappearing but something ELSE has happened. I discovered that the best e-mailers with interesting content also had good blogs. VERY good blogs! Most of the juicy e-mails with riveting titles link off to blogs that rock!
THIS MORNING A MESSAGE CAUGHT MY EYE
One guy in the ‘YES – MUST BE READ’ file is David Perdew and he prompted me into action.
He was writing about a Blog Challenge that is going to be run in April.
Here is a bit of David’s Message:
“Hey, I’ve never done Paul Taubman’s Ultimate Blog Challenge, although I’ve always wanted to. It’s a pretty awesome idea. 30 blog posts in 30 days… So, I’ve signed up for the April challenge (just because I thought I might have a free 15 minutes). Actually, this is one of those things I think I’ll make time for. Blogging has been really good for us. We just need to do more of it.”
I went over to my blog and – shock horror – the latest post there had ‘January in the title’. Now – here in the UK we put our clocks forward this weekend. What is happening to time and my new year intentions?
Like David – I actually know how important blogs have been for me in the past and I am letting it slip again.
There is nothing like a challenge to get you motivated again and commit to action – especially if there are other people involved.
I have heard Paul Taubman talk in a couple of webinars and I didn’t hang around. I know the blog challenge will be promoted and supported and that there will be mutual benefits for all taking part.
I signed up.
The welcome e-mail had a link to a conversation ‘Why You Need a Blog’ by Michele Scism who started the blog challenge some years ago and Danni Ackerman and Paul Taubman who have joined her to present the quarterly events.
So here it is – my first blog since January – inviting you to check out this challenge.
Come on Derek, Graham, Steve, Adam, Sue, Lucy, Uncle Tom Cobley and All. Why not join me? A blog a day during April.
So you know where to come in April to see me daily. I will be delighted to welcome you.
I am replying in this blog to a good question I was asked this morning.
I received an e-mail from a guy who I will call M. His message: “One question Keith – is that an affiliate link? As in you get a percentage if I buy?”
That is a fair question – and I usually put at the bottom of an article a note to indicate there may be an affiliate link in my message.
BUT what is the issue really. The thing is that it was an affiliate link and I will tell you more about that below. However let me explain the point of writing this blog. It does have a purpose.
I am going to write back to M – telling him to come and read this blog post.
I want M to get to know me. I wouldn’t put my affiliate link to anything that I didn’t know a lot about. I want M to get to know me and see that my intentions are to help him. I want M to see that I am genuine. Integrity is the most important part to make affiliate programmes work for you. Here in my blog I am exposed and bare (not a great thought). This is ME – warts and all.
HERE IS THE STORY
I have been involved with the web and internet marketing for many years. I have watched a lot of people that I know well who have made fortunes on the web – selling other peoples products as an affiliate.
The reason that they have had such success is because they have learned some skills – list building, driving large amounts of traffic to websites, making products to give away, using videos, webinars and social media – and so on – but most of all by having a presence on the web and letting people get to know them well. Self Branding.
And that is what I am doing right now.
So – we have a website where we sell self-hypnosis products – and they are evergreen products which sell well. We want nothing more than to get affiliates selling our products and giving a large commission for doing just that.
Who better to sell them? I will give you the answer – people who have used self-hypnosis products themselves in the past. They can promote them – as long as they have learned the skills as highlighted above.
AND – that is what I did this weekend.
I wrote to all of our self-hypnosis customers and asked them to put their hands in the air if they wanted to learn more about being an affiliate. I wanted to build a list of prospects who will receive the specific information about affiliate marketing.
M – was one of the responders who then got my follow up letter.
Here is that letter that M received with an affiliate link:-
Thank you for clicking on the link to say that you are interested about internet marketing and selling our products as an affiliate.
I must start off with a warning though. You need someone with you. There are many people that make money – in fact a lot of money – selling other peoples products – BUT – they have learned the game. You need proper training.
I myself, am part of a mastermind group and I am keen for you to join me – I totally enjoy learning how to market online.
Now I really want you to think about all of this carefully.
I am going to write and guide you if you will take one simple action.
I am going to send you to a page where you can find out all about making money on line. It will cost you 1$ (yes is an American website) and you will get 14 days access to the very best resources available anywhere on the web. (I am a man who has been around and made some bad mistakes before I got the best advice).
