Yo-Yo Exercise Causes Obesity

Well my new found exercise regime had better become a habit or I am destined to put on even more weight.       Well that at least is the message from Paul Williams following a study of 23,000 runners exercise regimes.  Those that stop them and then start again, tend to put on hard-to-shift weight in the hiatus.

He goes further – “The price to pay for quitting exercise is higher than expected, and
this price may be an important factor in the obesity epidemic affecting
Americans,” says Williams, whose study is published in the February
issue of the journal Medicine & Science in Sports and Exercise.

The lesson is clear once you start to exercise you had better keep going with it day in day out year in year out.

“Keep on Running” – I’ve got that song going round my head as I write.
