I also found the same discussion you are talking about on the Christian forum (through Google Blog Search, which you are probably using too), and was also struck by the degree of unexamined ignorance. Unfortunately there are some brands of Christianity which encourage people to have absolute confidence that they are right while also encouraging them to remain ignorant, and these are the people whose voices are most likely to be heard, since they have no hesitation about speaking up. It’s good to hear other voices, such as your own, providing a counterpoint.
